3764 Safe shopping in Gradara

No no ! Please, don’t change habit, but just tell me your address and notify me when your Ferrari will arrive.

…. I forgot to ask you … when and where do you usually go to buy cigarettes and newspaper ?

Category
Circolo di Conversazione

....I'm really forgetful; I'll be very grateful to you if you fill up the Ferrari before going to the newsvendor...

Thanks !

Sergio non ti preoccupare!!! I'll leave it with a full tank, newly insured and taxed.
Full set of matching Ferrari luggage, umbrella and matching lap top too.
Cosa vuoi di più??? :p

Perfect ! You are a true English gentleman !

But being myself a typical hospitable and generous Italian, I won’t leave you empty-handed. Instead of your terrific Ferrari I’ll leave you my modest, middle class Toyota 4x4, so that you won’t say that I’m the ordinary Italian pickpocket.

Ciao

Aaah !! Dimenticavo... thank you very...very much, but you forgot to tell me when and where .... :D

Ciao

Where? Gradara. When?? Il giorno che si sposa il Papa!!!!
Non sono un English gentleman ma una donna scozzese!!!!:p

Then you are a true Scottish Madame.

No problem ! Do not worry, I’m coming to steal your Ferrari, not you !

A girl can dream!!!
I probably wouldn't know how to drive a Ferrari anyway. My husband declares I cann't even drive what I've got never mind the prancing horse!!! Men.:p

Dreamy..

Why did you tell Sergio you have a Peugeot? I was enjoying this banter between you.. and even if a lady has a husband.. she must NEVER admit she can't handle a prancing horse!

:D :D

Anastasia I told him I had a Peugeot because that's the car I use when I go to buy the papers and me cigs!!!
The Ferrari is my other car the one I use for pulling and cruising!!!!
The horses are coming under control quite nicely. Sugarlumps are working wonders!!!!

Typical man he's given up already! Sergio, you're Italian you have a reputation to keep up, leaving this poor woman and her Ferrari! ;)

Dreamy..

Forget the sugar lumps.. you should dangle a carrot.. if that doesn't work.. well, there is always the whip. I hear it never fails..

:D :D

The whip comes after the "pulling" part Anastasia!!!!!:o :D

Cara TRULLOMARTINAFRANCA….
I don’t understand what reputation you are talking about. That of thief or “latin lover” ?

Please don’t tell me you were thinking about me like the typical Italian suitor running after every bit of skirt he sees. I've always considered myself a little better than that.
That is the first Italian habit I hate, the second one is the squawking on the last fashion UMTS cell phone like a flock of ducks in the train that links Gatwick airport to Victoria Station….I really hate when we try to export our most stupid habits.
There are many other Italian things I like, but really not these (believe me…there are many like me).

Thief ? No thanks. Firstly I guess I wouldn’t like spending 5-6 years in jail, secondly I have a job that I love and that allow me to have an honorable life. I have everything I need….ok, I cannot afford a Ferrari…but who knows…after a short trip to Gradara everything can happen… :)

By the way, if that avatar is your own trullo you should know that I like it very much, it’s simply beautiful.

Cara ANASTASIA….. You are a very bad girl!!!?? You know that. Isn’t it ?

Caro Sergio..

Si, lo so.. sono cattiva e casinista.. ma anche molto simpatica! :D

Se i tuoi genitori sono di origini napoletane allora non oso mettere in dubbio che sei simpatica ! :D ;)

Bravo!

Tu sei sveglio eh? Hai di mente e occhio acuto! :D

Sorry Sergio :o and I was thinking more of the Latin lover.

No, the avatar is not my Trullo cos Dave got there first for his avatar. Our Trullo is much more humble. I chose the photo for my avatar because it's our favourite coffee bar in Aberobello with a very nice waiter! ;) Oops! (Dave will kill me) who recognises us every time we go. We understand very little we are all saying to each other but still make friendly conversation none the less.

Trulli..

Why hasn't your Trullo got magical signs on the roof? :D

I always knew you were la vecchia strega! :D :D

I know you were thinking of that. You know, every time we go abroad we must face the following stereotypes imposed by a very old (and unfair) equation:

Italian = spaghetti, mandolino, mafia, latin lover, "volare"

Mafia means organized crime not simple thief or pickpocket so that I excluded from the very beginning the idea of thief.

Your trullo is beautiful.

:D I would rather have Italian sterotyping than English!

Sun burnt lobster red, handkerchief hat wearing, lager swilling louts that expect the whole world to speak English! :o

I love my little Trullo, I love Italy! :)

Hey Trully Scrumptious!!!
I'm UK born, nicely tanned, have 2 Ferraris;) and will only look at Barolo, Amarone and Vega Sicilia!!!
There goes your stereotype eh!!!!
Sergio I don't think people will be talking about mafia, latin lovers and spaghetti at the moment. More like Moggi, Prodi and le veeeeeeeeeeline!!!
Tutto il mondo è un paese!!!:D :D :D

That’s the point Dream Academy it's a stereotype and hopefully most of us avoid it!!!!!! Apart from I'm still at the babeling stage of Itailian! :o

Trulli,

Your Italian is improving and you had me laughing at the thought of you and Dave in pointy hats standing up in the Igloo! I think Italian Style is rubbing off on you! Brava!

I dont want to talk about Moggi, Prodi or Noddy.. I want to talk about mafia, latin lovers and spaghetti - especially the latin lovers.

Does anyone know where they are to be found? :D

Thank you….thank you and again thank you; you are too kind, but you know better than me that a good part of your fellow countrymen do not think like you.

I'm proud of being Italian, believe me, but I think an Anglo-Italian mixture could produce a much better result, I mean take the good things of both people and I'm sure the result would be amazing.

Ok, don't think I want to experiment with genetics like a moustached mad German 65 years ago, chasing the mirage of the chosen race...

Dream Academy is right, at the moment we have much bigger problems….Prodi is a good man, but he has the ability to make me fall asleep, he speaks like an old primary-school teacher in a classroom of reckless pupils….you have no idea how much I envy you your politicians, maybe Mr. Blair is not so popular right now, but I hold him in high esteem.

About football, I don’t care about it. I don’t like it. I much prefer Formula 1 and tennis…
Trulli,

Rooaarrrrrrrrrr !!!

  :p

Are you married Sergio? :D :D :D

Sweethearts... I'm glad you're all feeling so safe in Gradara!! ;)

At least we now know where to find a Ferrari parked with the engine running...

Sorry, Dreamy ... seems like the area's just turned out to be unsafe after all!

Your wish is my command Anastastia!!!!!:p

Much prefer--------------------------

Prodi is to be my lover? Oh Dio.. what will his wife say?

Who cares? If she gives me a headache.. I will send her to see exactly how beautiful Naples is.

She will thank me!

:D :D

[QUOTE=trullomartinafranca
]Are you married Sergio?
;) Yes I am; to Diana. She's Romanian and quite jealous :D :D I hope she'll never read this post, otherwise better for me to buy a sleeping bag and search for an open air accommodation...

Sometimes I think she is a descendant of a Sicily-born Roman soldier left to conquer the ancient Dacha in the legions of emperor Traian and never went back....

....are you sure you are from UK ? You are much more like an hot-blooded Pugliese...;)
Are you married Sergio?
.... Maybe you're descendant of a Sicily-born Roman soldier left to conquer the ancient England in the legions of emperor Adrian and never went back....:D :D
Your wish is my command Anastastia!!!!!:p
Look at him (Prodi) and his squared face ! Do you know his close friends have nicknamed him pasticcino. He is a quite greedy person (e si vede !).

:D :D

....Do not misjudge me. Apart from jealousy my wife is the perfect wife :)

This may be true Sergio, but Prodi is a powerful man.. and that is an aphrodisiac for some women.

Unfortunately for him.. Anastasia prefers the furbo style of the scugnizzi di Napoli! :D

:) :)
.... Maybe you're descendant of a Sicily-born Roman soldier left to conquer the ancient England in the legions of emperor Adrian and never went back....:D :D
No, not me, well you never know. I'm happily married too and my name is Dianne.

I was just trying to do a bit of match making for Anastasia, oh well wait for the next one! :D

The Goddess Diana (Dianne, Diane)

Diana was worshipped in ancient Rome. Her greek counterpart, fell under the name Artemis. Diana in Roman worship, was known as a maiden huntress. As centuries past and ancient Rome grew, so did the followings of the goddess Diana.

Diana no longer was classed simply as a huntress, but grew in status.. her path grew as well, she became known as the Queen of Witches.

I knew it!

:D :D

See it pays to keep some things hidden, had to suss you lot out first! ;)

Yeah.. but what I wanna know is who taught you furba in the first place? :D
No, not me, well you never know. I'm happily married too and my name is Dianne.

Oooohh !! Much better Dianne. It was rather complicated to call you TRULLOMARTINAFRANCA. It's samewhat ugly calling TRULLO a kind person like you ! :D :D

Sergio..

We all call Dianne 'Trulli' - it's a nice nickname for her. Trulli has a very nice sound to it in english.

We will find a good nickname for you in time.

:) :)

Everyone calls me Trulli on here, I just let my real name slip and no one would have a clue who you were talking about if you used it.

As for being furba, I'll tell you later, have to go to work now! ;)
..As for being furba, I'll tell you later, have to go to work now! ;)
Non preoccuparti.. ho capito molto bene.. e lo so! ;)

Toh Anastasia. The thought of having Prodi fall asleep on you would be too much for my conscience.
Try these 2 !!!

Children, we're going 'abroad'....

... to the CdC!!

Lovely countryside, great wine, good food... oh and a waiting pilot!! ;)

Hop you'll all find your way there allright...

I was actually wondering when Matron was going to take us on a trip. This shows exactly how lovely and moderate she is and beats the cr*p out of other methods!

I don't care how prim and proper Matron looks in her cap, I know she loves to play with the kids.

I think she should adopt us.. then we could all have jelly and ice cream for tea.

:p :D :p

Can I have a piadina with Nutella please????:p :p
Can I have a piadina with Nutella please????
That is a French Crêpe not a piadina. Please, don't mess it all up ! :p

That is another good subject for a new thread. Italians vs. the so called French cousins.
