3768 Weed Killer

Can anyone explain why it seems so difficult ( in fact impossible) so far to buy weed killer to control our small but rampant rear garden? Having to import it from the UK at present.

Very strange thing. I can remember my father buying "Diserbante per la gramigna" when I was a kid. I cannot believe it doesn't exist anymore.

Ask for a DISERBANTE, it's impossible not to find it. Go to a florist or to the nearest Brico Store or Metro Cash & Carry

Ciao

I think you must be looking in the wrong type of shop! "Diserbante" is the name (as Sergio has said), and I find it in the local Consorzio Agricolo, or in a shop which sells animal feed and the like. They probably keep it in a locked cabinet, so you will have to ask rather than expecting to find it on the shelves.

Glyphosate (which is a useful chemical name for one type of weedkiller - I think it equates to Tumbleweed or Round Up) might not have this name on the bottle, but it will be listed in the ingredients.

You will probably find a little advertising brochure for weedkillers and bug kitllers from one of the big name firms lying around in the Consorzio, and if you study it and find a trade name for the product you need you will be able to explain what you want. Bayer comes to mnd.
Casoron is available, but I don't think Gramoxone is. (That might have been banned in the UK, too).
