Terrible news.. simply terrible!

La ilalah allah la ilalah..

:) :)

Must say, it came as rather a shock. There I was clicking on to get my daily fix of olives groves and wine tasting ... and lo and behold !

Yeh, you're right Paula. It's rather a catchy little tune isn't it.

He created the plants and trees
He created the birds and bee's
He crated the oceans and sea's
Some of his many bounty

They could have had a Eurovision winner with this one.

Ha, ha. Reckon you're right Paula ... :D

We shouldn't really take the P, as they say

We Will be Your Curse on Cyber World !

Which site could be next?

La ilaha illa Allah..
La ilaha illa Allah..
La ilaha illa Allah..

He created the plants and trees
He created the birds and bees
He created the oceans and seas
Some of His many bounties
He made us on earth trustees
To obey all His decrees
Oh Allah have mercy please,
Clean away our hearts’ disease

La ilaha illa Allah..

Jalla Allahu fi 'oulah
Ma lana rabbun siwah
La ilaha illa Allah
Awwalun qablal wujud
Akhirun Ba'dal khulud
Mutlaqun 'anil hudud
Wajibun lahus sujud
Rabbun wahibul hayah
Mujrir rihi wal miyah
Fadhat binnada yadah
Tuba lilladhi hadah

La ilaha illa Allah..

He gave the day and night
He gave us our sense sight
He created the sun so bright
And the moon so pure and white

He saved from our plight
He led us towards the light
He led us to the straight path
Through his mercy and his might

La ilaha illa Allah..

Lord of the earth and the sky
Lord the mountains so high
Lord of the day and the night
Lord of joy and delight

Bet ya didn't know that did ya!

:D :D

Why should it be closed? (Apart from the fact it has nothing to do with Italy!)

We could use it as a catalyst to explore World music and/or the influence of Islam in Italy or...

I bet ya a tenner it stays open.

La ilaha illa Allah.. does anyone know what it means? :D

:D :D

La Ilaha ha Ila Allah (There is no Ilah except Allah)

You're on. A tenner it is! BTW, do you mean GBP or Dinar ; )

There is no God but Allah - did you google it? (Cheat!) :D

Sterling dosh! A tenner this thread stay open! Bet accepted! - Dunno about you but I am already addicted to the song.

If you listen it has some similarites to Pug traditional music anyway!

:D :D
Agree, just thought about the post while I was in the shower and have deleted it, not to cause offence to anybody of that faith on the board
Perhaps you should also delete/edit your posts at post numbers three, five and seven Paula if you dont want to offend anyone - those posts also contain the word "Burk".

:) :)

Sassy... leave it be, please! It was right of Paula to pull that comment ...

I'm too busy at work to play nursery nurse at the moment...

~yawn~

Oh, please Iona! I didn't say it wasn't right for Paula to pull that comment - I think she was right to pull it!

Paula only said she had thought about her post and didn't want to offend anyone and rightly removed the post - which contained the word "Burk" - I think she missed the others and hoped she would edit or delete them - if she did I would have removed mine and we could have carried on.. but no.. even when there is no malice.. some choose to see it that way.

Lets all remove the 'offending posts' or edit them and maybe things can "go back to normal" - but we know that posting is the only way to communicate this message and doesn't mean that hassle is desired.. by anyone!

I'm more than happy to remove this post if you like.. I don't want any more problems.. I'm tired of it always being Aliena/Anastasia who is blamed for the hassle, even when none is evident.

:(

Actually Iona, that's a very condescending comment.

I really don't think anyone was trying to cause 'hassle' - simply pointing out that the word 'Burk' or 'Berk' might be better deleted or edited as it could cause major offence not just to muslims but to all members here. I'm sure Paula doesn't know it's literal meaning (not many people do) or she wouldn't have used it.

FYI, it originates from the cockney rhyming slang 'Berkley Hunt' ... need I say more

I actually thought we were all 'playing' rather nicely up till then ;)

Even I didn't know that, never really thought about where it came from. Amazing what ya learn on here! :D

Off thread I know, but you'd be amazed how many words in common usage originate from cockney rhyming slang, for example :

What a load of 'cobblers' (cobblers awls)
I'm broke (hearts of oak)
To drop a clanger (coat hanger)

Now, back on thread ... free the highjacked forum! More power to the 'Pugs' ; )

Any suggestions you techies out there

Perhaps my cockney isn't up to much, but surely it would be "barks" to rhyme properly???

Rear Admiral (retd.) Featherstonehaugh-Cholmondely, Tunbridge Wells :)

I think it all went over Relaxeds head a bit.. thank goodness! :D

Could let her know where the emphasis lay? ;)

Cheers Susan for clarifying this... not very good with Cockney rhyming slangs... never been there!

Right, shutting up now & getting back to real work...

I reckon its subliminal message it getting to me..

I'm sitting here singing along and thinking of going to the local Mosque.. probably would if it was a Friday. :D

Does anyone else like Turkish Music? Try a singer called "Tarkan" if you do.

:) :)

By the way Sue.. You owe me a tenner! :D
