3843 A Possible Solution...

I had a word with the IT contractors here at work re the problem that Ronald experienced with barring the likes of Aliena from this site. As we are now aware Aliena/Anastacia works through AOL, and AOL assigns random ISP's to users whenever they log on.

The solution is this: If Anastacia, or anyone elses conduct become unacceptable again, if you can track the ISP that they log in on and then report these to AOL at [email]COSMonitor@aol.com[/email] they will then take action on their side and remove/block the offending users access to this site.

I don't know if this would be a permanent solution but it should plug what is currently a very big hole...

Good to know that it's not absolutely impossible to ban people - just requires some extra work!

By the way - given how things are now do you think that we need to worry about anything in particular? We seemed to have reached some sort of equilibrium.

There is an equilibrium of sorts here true so no, I think right now things can probably just ride.

I would watch though to see what balance there is between the frivolous threads and the informative threads, and also check to see if good threads are being diverted to no purpose. That was how the problem started originally so best to make sure it does not happen again.

P.S. Kudos on getting Adriatica back!

no kudos I am afraid. money makes the world go round. Adriatica is back because his wife has a real estate agency and I suspect you will see him ease in and then link from his signature as time goes by!

I think threads are quite interesting of late - I mean there is some frivolity but nothing that is particularly worrying me right now...
