Hi Jane, agree with Flyingpigs, Pilone is a nice beach, bar/cafe/icecreams just as you go down to the beach.
As for eating in Ostuni, we tend to use Locanda dei 7 and the owner Franco is great entertainment. A lot of locals go there and I think thats always a good sign.
Gave a great trip, lucky you.
Paula
Thanks

Thankyou for you help. I will let you know how we get on. I am really looking forward to just chilling out. The last few times we have been to Italy have been more cultural holidays with a lot of rushing around Florence , Venice and Rome so it will be nice to have the chance to relax.
[LEFT]Our favourite is the Torre Guacetto nature reserve. Parking is easy and usually free (however the Sunday before last it was E1 and absolutely packed, but I think is because it was the first very hot Sunday of the year - 34 degrees). It is a lovely sandy beach with dunes behind and no development whatsoever. However, this does mean no bar, no ice creams and no toilets - this is what we look for but may not be for you.
Pilone beach is also a nice one, a little more commercialised. There are also various lidos where you pay to use the facilities and beach chairs, etc. However, have never used these so can't comment.
There is a lovely restaurant - La Taverne - on the road from Ostuni to Rosa Marina - just before you get to the Rosa Marina I think on the right hand side.
Unfortunately, back in England now but the weekend before last was wonderful - clear sunny skies and temperatures of 30-34 degrees.
Enjoy your stay.
