3741 I Feel Very Safe Here

I have never really felt any great threat living here in Gradara.
Having said that it's probably best to take the usual precautions one would take anywhere.
Not good advice from me who on a regular basis, leaves the car open, keys in and engine running while nipping into buy some cigs or a newspaper.
I suppose I have been lulled into this sense of security and one day might just come a cropper.
When my Ferrari arrives, I will have to remember to close it .

Ciao Tutti!
In our 'adopted' village of Serra De' Conti, we tend to find that in order for people to keep their house keys safe from getting lost, they will leave them in the door - whether they're at home or at work!
We've owned our little house there for 4 years now, and although we visit regularly (not taken the plunge yet!), we still find it astonishing that the obvious trust everyone has in each other. It's rather sad that it dosn't exist over here...
Upon our return home (Sheffield) after a visit at Christmas we were greeted by a wrecked front door and a very empty house. Maybe if we'd left the key in the lock the damage to the property would have been less...

Welcome Simon to the forum, I know Serra De conte very well, one of my favorite towns, hope you enjoy the forum.

Hi Simon,

Slightly off topic, but I just have to ask why you registered the domain name legirasole.co.uk on 2nd October 2003 although ilgirasole.co.uk was still available until 24 Nov 2003?? If it was an Italian grammar mistake on your part you must have been gutted!

Hi Neilmcn
Unfortunately I was ill-advised by someone who should have known better, and didn't know enough Italian myself at the time to realise the error. As far as I could see it ended with an 'e' so should have had 'le' as a prefix...
As you rightly pointed out, by the time I realised the error, the ilgirasole name had gone. So yes, gutted - but still smiling. I'll be back over there soon with a 'damigiana' of local organic verdicchio chilling in the fridge...cin cin!
