3950 Thread Removal

It served absolutely no purpose. It did not even remotely stick to the subject of the thread title. It was also walking a very thin line between being amusing and being potentially nasty.

In all honesty, why then was it not simply locked? Is it a new rule now that posts which do not stick to the thread subject will result in the whole thread being removed? I think the mods need to prepare to remove a large number of threads:) .

To be fair, I realise you did it from the best of intentions and were only trying to save her from herself - once she gets on a roll with the "potentially" nasty stuff, I agree she does find it hard to stop.;)

As the thread had no useful info in it and was not particularly pleasant it was removed. Normal policy is if there is useful data in a thread it will simply be locked.

That's the problem isn't it? You just don't stop.. and you don't like it when I retaliate! I have tried to ignore the jibes, but why should I let you walk all over me time and time again?

I've put up with constant harassment and goading for over six months.. not so much from you Brendan, but your wife has been the main instigator, as you well know! You now seem to have taken up Jig/Elizaj's cause (understandably, as she is your wife) but I want to make it very clear that I am not prepared to tolerate another barrage of personal attacks or abuse from either of you (and, to a lesser degree, Paula Hampson) again.

You have another forum where you can carry on your ugly behaviour. I'm sure you have seen the thread.. someone was disgusted enough to send me a copy of it. Do you really think all this does not have an effect? It makes me stronger and less likely to be beaten into submission.

If you dont like the "nastiness" then please don't start it - 'cus I never start - no matter what anyone says.. but this has gone on long enough and it really is time for you to let go. It is not I who needs saving from myself - it's the world that needs saving from folk with attitudes like you, who goad and snipe until the object of your hatred retaliates tenfold.

It is a sick pleasure you seek.

It doesn't strike me as relevant to this arena; moving it to the circolo will not remove the nastiness & sniping. Suggest we all learn to live together & if there are personal attacks, then the mods do their thing.

I agree Tusk.. but the vast majority of the time the Mods (and the other members) don't see it in time.. because 'the poster' tampers with the offensive posts, first by heavily editing, sometimes 3 or 4 times and then deleting the post completely. It usually happens very late at night.

So, even though a record of the deleted post remains in the 'Mod boxes' they look perfectly innocent because it is the edited version that remains as a record. What remains within the thread looks like 'Alienanastasia' has been the nasty, spiteful one and 'they' are the poor souls picked on for absolutely no reason.

Is it starting to make sense now? I can post a copy as an example if you like. Then everyone can draw their own conclusions, but I am also happy to end it here.. as I have always been more than willing to do.

You mean like the post you deleted at the start of this thread at 11pm :confused: - although I wouldn't regard that as very late for most people

I must say that I find such threads totally against what I thought was a different forum to many others around.
Italy Mag in my opinion is a very high quality publication and the forum is very good too.
It's such a shame that so much "dirty linen" is done in the "piazza".
The great thing about this forum is that people can send each other PM's so if someone is being rude you can reply to them as you see fit without pulling down the tone of the forum for others.
I agree with Tuscan a big hug and let's get back to keeping the forum nice.
Here in Italy the weather is superb, the food and wine even better so let's all chill and be nice to each other.
