Be prepared for quite the show when Andrea Bocelli turns on Ponte Vecchio's new eco-friendly lighting system on the evening of Monday, June 16.
The legendary tenor will flip the lights on at 10 pm as a water-based performance takes place on the Arno river below the iconic bridge.
The green lighting from 102 LEDs is a gift from the Stefano Ricci fashion house to mark the 60th anniversary of Florence’s Center for Italian Fashion. The lighting is the opening event to mark the celebrations, which include a giant installation of Pucci scarves on the Baptistery.
Florence mayor Dario Nardella has said the new lighting system will offer savings of almost 80%.
