Argentinian goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo arrived at Lazio on Monday a year after the Serie A club signed a 7.5 million deal for the player.
Lazio spent last season making do with 43-year-old Marco Ballotta in goal after bureaucratic problems stalled Carrizo's transfer from Argentinian Clausura 2008 champions River Plate.
The 24-year-old player was initially signed to replace veteran goalie Angelo Peruzzi with a five-year, 650,000-euro-a-year contract.
''I'm ready for this adventure and I thank the fans who have waited for me for a year,'' the Argentinian said during a formal presentation by Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito.
Carrizo added that his ambition was to win the Lazio-Roma derby for his new club, which came 12th in the 2007-2008 Serie A.
