The final preparations for the Sanremo Festival are now about to end. The first day of the festival is approaching faster and everything must be under control. However some minor last minute setbacks are turning the tables.
This edition would have seen - with Gianni Morandi and Rocco Papaleo - the wonderful Tamara Ecclestone, a beautiful and charismatic woman who seemed very excited to participate in a show so important and so prestigious. Her enthusiasm, however, was only apparent.
Tamara Ecclestone in the last weeks revealed herself not at all helpful and really unable to take on her commitments. The artistic director of the Festival - Gianmarco Mazzi – was forced to bounce Tamara and look for someone else to replace her. He said: "Too many whims. Preparation and commitment are essential for us. The Festival cannot be a holiday on the Riviera".
Gianni Morandi also said: "We’ve been misled by our first meeting. When we met in London, with Mazzi and Presta, we had a good impression of her. She came alone, without bodyguards or manager, with a little makeup on her, like a “next door girl”. But then later, when we gave her the work plan - which included a few days in Rome for the promotion and the presence in Sanremo from early February for 'team building' - we realized that she was taking it differently . Her manager said she would have come only one day before the festival. On Twitter, we noticed that her whole day routine was gym-boyfriend-shopping. We thought she had taken Sanremo as a game. So we made this decision ".
It remains to be seen whether the role of the Formula One owner’s daughter will be replaced by another showgirl or maybe a sport champion – like Federica Pellegrini. For the time being the presence of Elisabetta Canalis and Belen Rodriguez - the two beautiful female presence in the last edition that have managed to charm the Italian audience – has been confirmed.
The 62nd edition of the Sanremo Festival is definitely not born under a lucky star. Even the presence of Adriano Celentano seems in doubt. In fact, on the official website of the artist, it is written: "We have learned that the RAI General Director Ms. Lorenza Lei would have communicated to the Director of RaiUno Mr. Mauro Mazza and to Mr. Gianmarco Mazzi Artistic Director of the Sanremo Festival that Adriano Celentano would be out of Sanremo Festival 2012 ”.
The start of the biggest musical event in Italy is not far away but the public has already heard a lot of it and - like every year – it is not just about music.
