Shopping at Ikea?
One of those flat packed (not guaranteed to be water tight) Øoogenflöppen vases to sit on my periodic table in the hall,
A bed of nails (cheap plastic - but hey! its cheap)
A set of telepathic spoons (easy bend variety)
And an overflowing cup of smugness as I set off on the 400 mile treck "home" with my goodies...

Its people not following rules. They all bitch in wrong place. They not able to read so good. Maybe too many still in pub now have 24 hour binge-o?
I'm sure that razor sharp wit will have those olives cut down to size in no time.
Or perhaps you could tease one of the local trogs out of their trulli georgeous caves to do the job for you?

Well, we never hear screams of "my land is tops" from the Tuscans, or the Venetians; is that because they know that they have paid top dollar for seconds, and that the abruzzese and the pugliese have bagged the bargains?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
regarding the tuscans and their land,i think it is more like bo derek(remember her)once said-"we all know i am beautiful so i do not waste time looking in the mirror"

in a nearby village (seeing as how cucumbers seem to have fired the collective imagination in this forum) there is a man from a northern uk town whose hobby is horticulture,he announced that the people round our way that they (we) didn't know how to grow veg ,(only he did), and proceeded to grow giant veggies.he told "us" the only way to grow melons was to impollinate them yourself (?),then one day passing on a deserted road i see a local ,who i know, bent over laughing looking out over the valley,so i stop and say "what yer doing?" he replies "i'm watching "X" " he's fu++++g his melons again" took a while to stop laughing to drive on.......

I have a potion that I use for irritants:
2 parts of ground trullo
4 parts extra v olive oil
10 demijohns of paint stripping home made wine
two million fine threads of St George's flag (hair of a dog that bit you will do just as well)
It also makes an excellent sun block but not such a good insect repellant.

Thank you for you help. The only reason that I asked on the forum was that I wondered if there were specific requirements in Italy, like there are for ceiling heights.
To see the fun down here, you must be logged in that is correct. Its because the inn keeper doesn't want jo public to stumble onto the forum and be shocked by the bile that gets dished up here.
Sadly most people ignore this and keep on bitchin' in the outside world.

I don't know if said cinema is still there, but it was a weird cross between a theatre and a circus. Not as weird as the films they showed though..

Tinker tailor Soldier or spy, I was having a bitch about people who see racism at every turn and often get it wrong. Cinema sounds interesting - where in North London ?
Ryanair should really do something about the legroom and their carry on hand luggage allowance as well - it maybe OK in the summer when everyone is scantily dressed but when Italians get on board wearing fur coats and carrying a bag from every retail outlet at Stansted airport there simply isn't enough room for our baked beens and porridge.

Interesting article today in the Daily Star (well if its in the Star it must be true) ;)
Quote:
Its men not women who are the bitchiest gossips - muck spreading for fun and stabbing pals in the back.
Their brand of tittle-tattle is more likely to be offensive and nasty, researchers revealed yesterday.
Women gossip for an average of 44 minutes a day compared to just 36 minutes for men. But its what they say that is the most telling.
Men are slyer and more calculating with a quarter admitting they spread damaging rumours to help their careers.
Oooooeeeer mrs

Who's being a hypocrite? In one breath you say 'is that it, god put some effort into it!' and in another, you say,we should go to the chat room. Do make up your mind do you want us to go or do you want to continue to join in? You also said you wanted to fight back because you didn't like being mocked. The answer is don't open yourself up to be mocked then. As I said in my first post some people take things too seriously. This thread is for the purpose to be silly, all of us apart from you and maybe brendangfc have made jokes about each other. Are we upset? Do I care that my Trullo has been called an Igloo or a cave? Of course not, it's a joke and if not does it matter. We like our Trullo and have far more important things to worry about, like life and death!
Finally I do take feelings into consideration which is why my posts remained quite simple because I didn't think it was right to take it any futher. I could.....really tell you in no uncertain words if I wanted, that you are taking this far to seriously but thats the end of it from me. This thread was a laugh but I do practice what I preach and will no longer join in until you have calmed down.

actually, and its in print, i said god put some effort into it, which meant your
responses,glad to see you have.
then i said at the end of the post, about the need for a chat room.
you shouldn't really switch things around to distort things...
as for talking this far too seriously, this beggers believe coming from you or
anyone who is 100% british.
tell you what why don't you and the tinker, go into a italianbar, when its full
of italians and ask, "who thinks being called an eye tie is offensive.do it.
you of a short memory i posted about this on the infamous thread in early
december, which i know you read... so when you utter total rubbish about
taking things far too seriously and about feelings, then it would seem you
believe everything should be seen from an english perspective! yet you and
others are on here for your so called love of all things italian!
yet far too often when an italian give you their perspective of things,to do
with italians.... you counter?
you didn't really give an educated opinion on my first post on this thread,
you just had to attack me!
yet in all honesty how could you really give any sort of opinion on my first
post, as it was from an italian perspective and you are not italian,so can
not possibly have one.
note the old saying.
everyones has a right to an opinion...is not true tottally true.
what it means is everyone has a right to an opinion,on something they know
and understand...
which means on my original post, it excludes you and tinker, untill you understand that "eye tie" is an offensive slur....
my entire posts on this thread has been conducted with a calm approach..
if you cannot see that..i surgest you wait till the red haze has gone....
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Listen pal, we all know what is and isn't an offensive term. I, nor I should think anyone else on this forum, would use the term "eye-tie" in polite conversation. But this is not polite conversation. This the "Bitching Thread". AND, my friend, the original comment was taking the piss out of someone else's user name, and did not even then refer to him as an "eye-tie" or anything else.
I am very sorry if you were bullied at school. So was I, and no doubt many many others, but I got over that a long time ago.
You really need to grow up and stop being so bloody paranoid. Do you think that any of us would use this forum, take holidays in Italy, or even go the extremes like myself and buy property there, if we thought that Italy, or the Italians were in any way inferior to us, or anyone else?
When we use the kind of banter that we have been doing here, we're not taking the piss out of any individual's personal traits or experience - we are really taking the piss out of ourselves. Why can't you understand that?
But PLEASE, keep you thoughts about this to yourself. I wanna here more about cucumbers (whether or not in crustless sandwiches) and other interesting things.
Beam me up Aliena, this place sux.
Whatch out guys for tapped phones!
