Italian tax men blitz the chic in ski resort raids

Italian tax agents donned skis, gloves and goggles to launch an unusual blitz in the chic ski resort of Courmayeur, two months after a similar raid on another playground of the rich, Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The raid on Courmayeur, which sits in the shadow of Mont Blanc, involved 70 agents carrying out spot checks on 30 businesses.

Going to Castel di Sangro this weekend, never been further south than Rivisondoli and Roccaraso before, any travel tips from forum members? Hope to ski a little if there isn't too much freezing rain which is forecast. After the heavy snow of the past few weeks I'm sure its going to be a winter wonderland.

Hi All Italy Lovers, my wife and I are looking at buying an old restored 18th Century barn some 15km north of the centre of Rome (train to centre of town). We are considering setting this up as a B and B and we would be really interested to know what you think for research purposes prior to taking the leap. Please rest assured I am only after your opinion, nothing more.

The barn is set out beautifully having been fully restored with a mezzanine library area and four double bedrooms (all ensuite).
