Hi from Wilma the Wolf Cub

Submitted by Wilma on

Hi from Wilma and thanks to the Italy Mag for including a picture of me as a Wolf cub. I am struggling with a 'chiavetta' internet connection at the moment that is even slower than my builder which is why I couldn't inlude a true likeness.
Whilst slowly moving forward with my trullo renovation I ponder how best to manage my olive grove. Was the grass cutting conundrum ever resolved with regard to olives?

UK driving licence due to expire

Submitted by sprostoni on

I am fast approaching the need to renew my driving licence as it is due to expire this mid year. As I am thinking that I will be here in Italy for quite a few years yet, I am thinking that I migrate it to an Italian licence (not just getting a pink sticker - or is that the same thing?). Does anyone have experience (good or bad) of doing this ?

Italian Bread in a Bread Maker

Submitted by FromNowOn on

With some Christmas money I bought myself a bread maker. The results have been lovely, with fresh bread ready each morning for breakfast when we come downstairs. We're based in the UK, so I have been using types of flour available in Tesco and Waitrose. One of the loaves that I have made and like a lot is an 'Easy Ciabatta'. I use strong white flour, sugar, olive oil, salt and water. The result is good but not like the delicious heavy bread I buy when we are in Italy.

Changing £s into Euros

Submitted by Maralyn on

The exchange rate seems pretty good at the moment and we have booked our trips over to Italy for the year so are thinking about changing some money into euros for our visits. It has been suggested by a couple of friends that we buy euros through FX Exchange. We have never done this before so wonder if anyone has any comments or suggestions about currency exchange. I am not talking huge amounts, just holiday money plus a bit extra to put in the bank. Maralyn

Moneycorp

Submitted by sprostoni on

I have a regular sum of money sent over from the UK every month. This month however the money left my UK account and has yet to arrive here in Italy (Banca della Marche). Apparently, Moneycorp require a 'SEPA' code, has anyone else have this issue ?
