Hi. We are building a kitchen in an annexe of our house in Italy. We need a plumber to connect the sink to the drainage system and sign the documents for the Commune. Unfortrunately all of the plumbers we have contacted are unwilling to sign. Does anyone know why this might be the case? And is there a register we can tap into to find someone who registered to sign such documents? Many thanks

I asked which municipality, not out of morbid curiosity, but only because it would have been useless, for each of us here, to suggest to you, the neighboring plumber, that maybe lived 250km away from your house ..I'm glad you found, with the help of the electrician - Usually these local technicians know each other.

If you want the certificazione degli impianti then you want a plumber to certify the system in your house, and assume the legal responsibility for it, but its not his work.  That's why he won't sign.  You can't certify one bit of a system.    What exactly does the comune want with regard to certfication?

The commune requires him to sign the application for planning permission to say he is doing the plumbling work on the project. The project involves adding a kitchen sink to a small cottage in the grounds of the main house- so not part of the main building. The electrian is also required to sign but fortrunately our electrician is happy to do so- its just finding the plumber who will sign that is holding things up now. Thanks.

Hello, the first thought I had it's that the answer why that is a problem for the Comune it's exactly here:The project involves adding a kitchen sink to a small cottage in the grounds of the main house- so not part of the main building. That may be the problem, rather than the plumber himself.I believe that the architect or the professional who is managing the project has got the answers to the whys and to the hows.Angelo
