Hi there - doing some research. Anyone know if there is a river Indaco near Ortezzano???Thanks in advance
I may have asked this in the past, but don't know how to search old posts. Anyway,we're spending our first family Christmas in Italy this year. Any favourite recipes gratefully received.
I've just booked flights for 23rd December for whole family including seni-reluctant grown-up children. Two scenarios present themselves to me.

Went to see this movie last night in Oxford. Probably one of the slowest films with the least happening that I have ever seen - but actually it was perfect! Shot in Calabria - in part in Serra San Bruno - everyone will recognise a little vignett
I have just receved a document from Ray Ellis which those with an interest in recent-ish history might like to share. I don't know if I can attach it so have copied it in its entirety below - apologies therefore for length of post. Ray Ellis was

Thanks Ronald - done that, though for others who are as neurotic as me about clicking the right bit - I'll just say that1. Notifications is a Tab2. It says Administer Subscriptions, rather than Manage (sounds vaguely priest-like)3. You have the choice of "edit" or "drop" when you get to your current subscriptions4. If you click on "drop" it then says something very scary - "THIS ACTION CANNOT BE UNDONE" - above an unsubscribe button.5. Clicking on the unsubscribe button doesn't bring a thunderclap but does seem to remove that particular subscription! :D
I never really got to grips with star ratings and the like before. I read posts that were: - on a topic that interested me or- by someone whose postings I'd enjoyed in the past or- came up when I searched for a particular subject or- that I'd contributed to and wanted to see what responses there'd beenThere were discussions about building a bank of knowledge on certain perennial subjects - is that a possibility here - so newbies in particular can be directed to it?As to ranking ourselves depenent on number posts, length of service etc, I never really liked that. Maybe we could pick from a range of "characters" one which best describes our involvement??

Yup - no problem
Just saying hello and look forward to using this forum as a continuation of the old, in that it has provided me with new friends, lots of useful information, and, to be honest, some displacement activity in a busy day!I like the sound of a more interactive community - as someone who doesn't spend all her time in Italy it would be good to remain involved from a distance if I can. Many of us have arrived in out of the way corners of Italy which could do with the injection of new ideas and projects. Whilst some are bound to fail, or offend local sensibilities, I would like to think that this forum could assist those involved in sensitive integration into our local communities. I don't mean that we should be telling the Italians how to do things, and in fact I'm sure we'd get short shrift if we tried!
