I thought I would start a new thread on this for easy access.
Anyone have any idea on pricing for an external chimney from a pellet stove to reach above the roof line on the 2nd floor of a house. I am posting on behalf of a friend who is not well enough to do her own research, so forgive me for being vague.
I have a very good friend who is being harassed by a previous partner by phone.I remember in the UK that British Telecom had steps they could take to prevent nuisance calls of this nature.
Following on from another thead, what will happen to the ever increasingly aged farming communities, now that their children no longer want to work on the land?
So now being in possession of our permanent residency, apart from health care issues (and the rather nice baseball hat from the Sindico) what other advantages can we expect ?.
An Aesops fables moment (OK I know that was grapes....) I went down to check on our large cherry tree, bent over with the weight of cherries this year and surprised two large adult foxes doing the same thing.

Well I am still here, I guess we in Italy are taking advantage of the beautiful weather to be outside. I may post tomorrow about our first experience of an Italian funeral, but am not sure I have the words to express how much it meant to us and the community in our village.A
Me...roadside bin, Gromit how could you even think it!. But on a walk near to us yesterday it was obvious that someone had taken the trouble to drive past the bins at the top of our road, to then chuck their rubbish over a steep bank and down onto our neighbours fields, perhaps they like the idea of disposing of their stuff whilst enjoying a beautiful view...A
Thanks Al, just being a bit lazy I guess this morning, will go up and ask them.A
Thanks for all the replies, didnt think it would provoke such an interesting debate, some may not have noticed from the initial post that it was a friend of mine posting who has left her camper van (Colin) with us for 4 months until she returns to drive it back to the UK, during which time the UK road tax elapses. She will now renew it to cover the period that the van is with us and to cover her drive back to the UK. (it is MOT until May 2010).A
Thanks for all the swift advice (friend is very impressed with this community and is going to join herself), will probably go with Als post and keep the tax current to avoid any nasty surprises.A
Oh 20mins away from us!, will pm you, thanksA
Thanks all, Phil where do you live?, the kind offer might be negated by having to drive to Milano to pick up, we are in Southern Marche.Getsett, thanks we must shop around.A
Andrew thanks I rather feared the worst.A
I really dont think it is fair to apply the 2 prices theory to all Italians, and what you are saying is effectivley they are cheating you which is not a pleasant thought for the natives of a country you choose to live in. This has never been the case for us, we have always been treated fairly, and anyway, in most cases prices are clearly displayed for all to see.Perhaps it might help if your Italian is not fluent enough to be understood for large purchases take someone else along who can translate for you. Then misunderstandinga can be avoided.A
