Can he keep on surviving on less than a handful of votes?
Some people do not seem to suffer the consequences of a world crisis. A Chinese gambling magnate has just paid US$ 330,000 for two white truffles, the largest one from Tuscany and the other one from Molise, at a charity auction.
An event not to be missed. The 2nd National Exhibition and Fair for "Presepi" or Nativity sets, is going to be held in Bagni di Lucca as from the 4th of December at the Piazza Circolo dei Forestieri.
Hi! My youngest daughter, Natalia, helps as a volunteer in Save a Bunny San Francisco. They have at present more than 80 bunnies in the refuge and little or no money.
Just a reminder that the Iris Gardens in Florence will be open this year between the 24th of April and the 20th of May. A magnificent collection with over 2,500 varieties.
Once upon a time... in the Old, defunct Forum (God bless its soul!), we had a very funny thread on Forum Characters. I found the link that shows those characters and it is still very appropriate for the Community. So here you are....
Winter is almost here and this time of the year is not a favourite season for gardeners.

Thank you Mark for your very interesting comments. I've put it on my list of places to visit.
My experience with forums is limited; however, I believe that there are two main types of characters, the genuine ones... no masks, no make-up, just as they are and the fictional ones. Very hard to find out who is who. Generally speaking, genuine characters are less aggressive and they tend to get along with everybody.
Perhaps a bit far away from you, but they seem to specialise in flowers and flowering shrubs: http://www.gardenclaudia.com/chi_siamo.html
Great news. The poor thing deserves a good life.

I agree with Fllide's comments. We always go to the area although our home is a bit further north (Lucca). Prices are fairly high as it is popular with Italians, Dutch and German people. Renting also sounds as a sensible proposition so that you can get the "feeling" f the area.
Thank you Anne for the moving stories. Many lives were saved by humble, ordinary peopled who risked everything to help and protect fellow human beings. Bearing in mind when all this took place, most of them will be dead by now. It is important to keep their memory alive.
I agree with Chris, you could be put as a dependant on your wife's cover. Insist.
There are also some test kits that you can buy that will tell you what your water needs and you can adjust chemicals accordingly. This will reduce the number of visits needed from the expert. The robot is great also, however, I doubt that it would be effective at this stage.
Hi Danno! Thank you for your comments. The problems that you are experiencing are quite normal. To listen to different voices and accents, forms of speech, colloquial and familiar expressions, all that at high speed, is difficult and frustrating; however, it may take some time but you will gradually improve your comprehension skills. My advice would be to listen to the radio, watch Italian TV and films in their Italian version with Italian subtitles, as in that way you are getting both the spoken and the written word. Ask people to repeat what they have been saying and that you are not able to understand. The large majority would not mind it at all and they will help you to understand. Don't be shy!
