Can he keep on surviving on less than a handful of votes?
Some people do not seem to suffer the consequences of a world crisis. A Chinese gambling magnate has just paid US$ 330,000 for two white truffles, the largest one from Tuscany and the other one from Molise, at a charity auction.
An event not to be missed. The 2nd National Exhibition and Fair for "Presepi" or Nativity sets, is going to be held in Bagni di Lucca as from the 4th of December at the Piazza Circolo dei Forestieri.
Hi! My youngest daughter, Natalia, helps as a volunteer in Save a Bunny San Francisco. They have at present more than 80 bunnies in the refuge and little or no money.
Just a reminder that the Iris Gardens in Florence will be open this year between the 24th of April and the 20th of May. A magnificent collection with over 2,500 varieties.
Once upon a time... in the Old, defunct Forum (God bless its soul!), we had a very funny thread on Forum Characters. I found the link that shows those characters and it is still very appropriate for the Community. So here you are....

I am afraid that you will not find health insurance for about 300 euros yearly. The figure of 800-900 sounds more realistic. I do hope that someone may come up with a lower rate. Please let us know.
Good tip, Cinghiale. Thank you. I don;t think that we have been there, but we will try it next time. Sounds very interesting and usually these are the best places to eat. And I do love home-made "gnochi" Yummy!!!!
No, Cinghiale, I still have a lot to learn; however, we go quite frequently to Lerici whenever we are in Bagni. My husband loves the place. For this reason, I know a bit about that area and I am happy to share the information.
The golf club is called "Marigola " and you may find some information at www.golfmarigola.it
I think that it may be much easier to go from Florence to Lucca by train on a day trip. There are a couple of trains at least every hour from Santa Maria Novella and the train station at Lucca is centrally located near the San Pietro gate which is one of the main entrances into the old town. The train trip takes only about an hour.On the other hand, if you are driving, I would do Verona and Bologna on the planned two day trip. Bologna is a wonderful city, worth a visit as well and it would be on your way back to Florence.
Serge, thanks for the information. Very interesting.
Hello Allanhu and welcome. Best wishes regarding your plans.
You are right, it could be better if we had "My Unread posts" just below "My Unread Group Posts", on the right hand side.
I understand that olive trees should not be fed. On the other hand they do need to be watered regularly. But please keep us informed about the progress that your plants are making.
Welcome Vince, enjoy life and keep us posted.
