Can he keep on surviving on less than a handful of votes?
Some people do not seem to suffer the consequences of a world crisis. A Chinese gambling magnate has just paid US$ 330,000 for two white truffles, the largest one from Tuscany and the other one from Molise, at a charity auction.
An event not to be missed. The 2nd National Exhibition and Fair for "Presepi" or Nativity sets, is going to be held in Bagni di Lucca as from the 4th of December at the Piazza Circolo dei Forestieri.
Hi! My youngest daughter, Natalia, helps as a volunteer in Save a Bunny San Francisco. They have at present more than 80 bunnies in the refuge and little or no money.
Just a reminder that the Iris Gardens in Florence will be open this year between the 24th of April and the 20th of May. A magnificent collection with over 2,500 varieties.
Once upon a time... in the Old, defunct Forum (God bless its soul!), we had a very funny thread on Forum Characters. I found the link that shows those characters and it is still very appropriate for the Community. So here you are....

By the way, I find this publication most useful and full of interesting information on suppliers, etc http://www.casantica.net/
Thank you for your comments missjanem+c. Your project sounds like a wonderful one. Very challenging and rewarding. I wish you all the best!
Modicasa is absolutely right. When we purchased our home, we had to request our bank to issue two separate certified cheques, one was for the bank, to pay off the seller's mortgage and the other to the seller, for the balance of payment. This is done all over the world. Common practice. Good luck with the sale!

Praiano! How lucky you are! We spent a great week there last year. As you wish to come to Tuscany, I think that you would enjoy Bagni di Lucca, where we spend part of the year, thermal spa and just a beautiful place, handy as a base to visit Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena, Volterra...All can be done on day trips. There are some working farmhouses in the area. I will try to find out their names.
You will get better fares and more possibilities flying from New York JFK to Rome and then get a bus, or train to Naples. Check the Air France site, www.airfrance.us as they regularly have special offers. I fly with them a lot to and from San Francisco and I can recommend them.
If you are enrolled in an Italian language school, check with them if they offer homestay arrangements with Italian families. These arrangements are usually convenient and also provide immersion in the language and culture.
