Located less than a 100 m away from the Ponte Vecchio this centralli located trattoria is excellent value for money. You will find it on a narrow street called Via Stracciatella, to the left of Piazza di S.
I did not want to hijack Ronald's thread on Sardinia and the G8, but following a post on the same topic by Adriatica and my own commennt, I thought that it may be interesting for many to see what we are talking about.
Lucca is an absolutely wonderful city. Full of art, history, good facilities and all this without the crowds that you find in other Italian cities. Try to be there during the 3rd Sunday of the month when there is a huge antique and vintage fair covering many of the streets and squares of the old city. The ramparts are superb and in perfect condition. Concerning the surrounding area, you have Val di Lima, the Garfagnana. All wonderful. We have a small watermill in a really charming town called Bagni di Lucca and the area is outstanding. Barga, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, the "Eremita di Calomini", just to name a few.... You will not regret coming to Lucca Province and possibly you will keep on coming back.....
Great news, Ram, thank you. I generally use the Internet service provided at the Tourist Office in Bagni di Lucca and the last time I was there my ID document was left inadvertently in the office. The problem was that we left next day without realising I did not have it with me. Fortunately, the kind lady who runs the office realised it, found my overseas address and forwarded it to me. But I agree, it was a nuissance to have to fill up forms, etc.
Tea Tree Oil is used in Australia and it is very effective. In Bagni di Lucca I bought Vape Derm Extra Lozione Antipuntura and it really worked for me. Gives you protection for up to 5 hours.
I don't think it is a wise idea for IM to sell advertising space to a company that has a bad reputation. And I would second Ram's comments concerning Charlotte Oliver.
I have seen in the past members adding a line after their signature, saying home for sale in.... Then, other members may send a PM to them if they are interested.
I have used the Internet at Jacqueline's in Ponte a Serraglio (Bar Italia is almost next door) or at the Tourist Office, on the main road a few yards away from the Comune.
Hello and welcome to our Community. I feel sad to hear all the problems you have had. Our own experience, buying a property in Tuscany, was a positive one; however, we know that there are quite a few problems with some agents. I don't think that this affects Italy only. You find the same type of traps wherever foreign buyers are involved. All what I can say is, that if you really want to move to Italy, this problem should not affect you. Keep on looking for what you want.

Sorry Michael, that was possible in the old Forum. No automatic signature in the Community. My mistake. Also, thank you, Angie.
