A woman brought a very limp duck to the vet clinic.  As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, I'm so sorry, but your pet has

PaulDAB and internet radio are two different things. If Italy has DAB, I am not sure, it will just give you local radio stations and possibly the RAI networks depending on your location because as in the UK, coverage is not universal. It certainly will not give you the World Service.  Internet Radio on the other hand will give you 5,000 or so stations from around the world including the World Service and all the BBC national and local stations. I am currently listening to Classic FM from the Middle East over the internet using a Bush (remember them) TR2015 which cost me about £60 a couple of years ago.Internet radio is brill, Google internet radios and you will find lots of choice, however, bear in mind you will need a decent internet connection and usually wireless, so you can move the radio around.   Charlie

Hi JDI see you are off Qatar, greetings from Kuwait. It will depend whether your BBQ takes Butane or Propane, however both can usually sourced from your local petrol station for about €25 for a large bottle. If you should not have a suitable regulator in your collection, then your local small hardware store will have one to suit.Good luck with the move. C

The Landrover is obviously great off road and in snow, but reliability? The Fiat Panda ditto, not sure about the Kangoo as there is only one round us. Essentially, the first two are second cars and would thus require all the faffing around of taxing and insuring in Italy seen elsewhere on the forum. However, if the requirement is for coping with the snow and ice and also the journey to and from the UK, then you need something good on and off road and reasonably economical. Might I suggest the Nissan X-Trail, which is probably the best of the Soft roaders in snow and ice, is considerable cheaper / more reliable than a Freelander and has switchable 4WD, so the economy is not bad. If dosh is no object then a Volvo XC90, but then that is not a very green solution. In winter, we tend to hire as Alan says a 4WD at the airport and use the normal car / van outside the winter period as the slog down from the Channel Ports in the winter months is not much fun. But for two month slots, it will get a touch expensive and when the weather gets bad, hire 4WD's become a very rare species indeed.  I'm afraid we haven't helped much, best start sourcing a good divorce lawyer and make sure you get the Azienda!

I have come in very late to this discussion, but for next year...if you have missed a shoot that needs to be removed and it is more than about 2" long, you can dip the end in rooting powder or gel, pop it in a pot, and are likely to get a very healthy extra tomato plant from it which will obviously crop later than the mother plant!

London LassSanef operate the french equivalent of Telepass, Liber - T and the scheme costs Euro 10 as a deposit and then Euro 2 / month, but as with most things these days, there are various offers. When you longer need the pass, you just send it back and they return the deposit for the badge.http://www.sanef.com/fr/ecommerce/particulier/decouvre.jsp

Hi allYou have my sympathy Hazy, we have a similar problem with our dongle and GPRS, I spend most of my time wandering around the terrace trying to get a stable signal, still I can think of worse places to be doing it.We do not have ADSL in the villages and thus a landline is of little interest, it was hoped that a mesh type system would be installed but there are problems in siting the mast unfortunately.  Thus a dongle for us is the only real solution.   Anyway, from google it would seem that you can now get amplifiers for weak 3g and GPRS signals and I was wondering whether any one had tried them and to what effect.http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/blog/2009/03/how-to-boost-your-mobile-broadband-3g-signal/If not, I will give it a go and report back.
