Hithis is a wedding question. Does anyone know whether I would need an official translator for the ceremony or will a friend suffice who is fluent in both English and Italian?
I am pleased to say that the comune have all the documents so we are set to go for the end of the month. They are happy that my Italian friend will be interpreting for us and she does not have to be a legal translator etc. thanks for al the advice
Hiyou might be able to answer a query for me... Once you had your certificate of no impediment translated and apostillized did you have to do anything else with it? Eg sworn before a guidice di pace? Thanks
Hi Gala you are right. Her insurance if she had any would probably be invalid because her property has not been maintained. I'll get onto my insurance and keep everything crossed! Thanks again
Thanks for the advice. I do have buildings insurance but I suspect she doesn't. She owns a lot of properties in all states of disrepair. I will have to shop around and get some advice from a solicitor etc. is there anything a justice of the peace can do? Someone in Italy mentioned it but I don't know how it works thanks
