Hi, I am aware that tradesmen are highly regarded in Italy, and DIY is a fairly new concept, but can anyone suggest where or how it would be possible to rent a floor sander from?

Hi,   Just a thought, but you have to be very careful sealing walls in. I assume that the old walls are lime plaster and are meant to breath and allow moisture in and out. If you then but a solid barrier up against it, you may find that moisture will force the new plaster off the wall..... Good Luck!
