As we are not in Italy all year round it is not economic that we subscribe to the more expensive Sky monthly package so we have the basic and have purchased a Sky Pass to view football matches - from UK and Champions League etc. Our problem is th
We had problems in the summer with our electric current going off in a storm and then the electric pump to pump water away from the drain outside our semi underground garage did not work so our garage got flooded. This was all in our absence so w
Hi everyoneThose in Italy have the hot weather - us at present in England have the Bank holiday! Does anyone know of a site which gives the proposed timetable for broadband coverage in Italy by comune please? When in Italy we are in northern Laz
I like the new format. Well done to all.Can anyone advise please as to whether ICI have been abolished for A2 category prima casa if the person paying is registered as resident at the anagrafe - or is there just a fixed amount deduction. Thank
As others have said, as long as these 2 documents match is should be ok. I bought a property in Italy and took out residency in my maried name, the name on both my passport and CF and it was not queried. By the way I like the door in your photo!
My neighbour may be glossing the price down but I know he buys the bags in very large quantities (for him and for a relative's house) so perhaps he gets a good price. He and his wife (both in their 60s) are in most of the day and night so I think would keep the heating on for a long time. As for our price for Gpl - it is very high I think and perhaps it is just as well that we don't go out there much in the winter!
Not sure pas55 but I think that some Italian organisations won't let you pay with a credit card which has not been issued in Italy for example when I tried to pay my Italian TV licence online to one of the businesses which collects money on behalf of the Agenzie delle Entrate (or whoever it is) my UK credit card kept getting rejected. In the end I did manage to pay it to Equitalia. I had a similar problem trying to pay a Telecom Italia bill online a couple of years ago. It looked as if it had gone through but hadn't. I have now set up Direct Debits through my Italian Bank account and, for a charge, they pay the ENEL, Energas, Sky and Telecom Italia bills for me. Have you thought of doing that? For a smallish charge they take the hassle away from you.
There was a bit in Capodimonte VT yesterday morning 1/2/12 but it soon disappeared according to my neighbour who phoned yesterday pm. Also my friend who lives nearby in Canino posted a photo of her back garden / fields yesterday - snow covered fields and garden and bright sunshine.
We have Gpl gas ch and radiators with a boiler and the Gpl is supplied to a large underground bombolone in our locality by Energas. The last bill showed a cost of about 3.80 a cubic metre. Having done some research I think that is 1000 litres so the cost was 3.80 a litre. On top of that is IVA, and a small fixed charge. Our neighbour who lives there full time had a bill of over 800 Euros for 6 weeks over Jan and Feb when he moved in a couple of years ago so he has converted to a "stufa" with wood pellets. He says that one bag costs about 3 Euros and lasts 2 days to heat the same radiators and provide hot water. His house is on 2 floors with 2 large bedrooms, a large living/dining room and reasonable kitchen, 2 bathrooms and possibly some of the garage/cantina (which is mostly underground) is heated. The installation cost of the stufa and fixing it up to the ch system was about 4,000 Euros. He is very happy that he changed over and says he is saving lots. In the milder weather when ch is not needed he uses the Gpl to heat the hot water. We are not out in Italy that much in winter so felt that the installation cost of the stufa was too high for our needs.
Hi caerus. Welcome and I look forward to hearing about the results of your search. We have a home in Northern Lazio when we are in Italy, in a village on the Lago di Bolsena. It suits us well .... but then there are so many beautiful parts of Italy!!
Hi Ram. Thank you very much for this. Very helpful. When I worked it out just now it was a lot less than I expected. What I don't understand, and perhaps someone can enlighten me please, is why the Aliquota works out at 515 but then it says that for Prima Casa I will pay 315. If it was Seconda Casa then the amount to pay stays the same at 700 and something. I understand about the rendita catastale being revalued by 5%, then multiplied by the new rate of 160, then multiplied by 4 per 1000 (the new rate of 0.4%). That then gives the Aliquota. What then happens to reduce the rate to pay by 200 for Prima Casa? It also reduced another figure I randomly put in by 200!!

Looks like the original post has been removed. Very pleased that it has been.

Hi italanon. Welcome and I hope all goes well with your plans. You seem to be doing great so far!
Thanks Fillide. That is pretty generous since the Prima Casa rate is discounted anyway.
