After moving to Italy things changed for me in a way I could never have imagined. One night I poured my heart out on a forum,(Italymag) I received at lot of help, support and advice from people who didn’t know me but were kind enough to care.

Two more this morning, one I felt just before 9,  parked up at the petrol station and thought my car was rolling back so grabbed the handbrake, very strange experience. Wish Italy would keep still.

So are you saying that everyone has to have a decoder? my TV is probably about 4 yrs old. I only watch British channels and until recently had no problems. The dish is huge and it's on the roof it's been there 8 yrs without a problem.

Well I'm rubbish at anything like this - no idea what 'hotbird' is and probably won't put it in google search! Looks like I will have to get a man in....might ask him to fix my telly as well!

I have the same problem with UK TV, been here 8 yrs without any problem but now any slight change in the weather and we lose the signal. We don't pay for sky and the card is no longer needed as we only get the free channels so would be interested in any answers on this.

Well Caroline if you could bore people for a living you'd have enough money to put the euro crisis right. Go and have a nice big glass of wine (French obviously cos Italian wine is probably shit as well) and be calm and content with life - like all us 'Britalians'

I'm with Esme on this one, sure there are some grotty parts of Italy but most of it is still beautiful and to say it's got nothing going for it just comes across as bitterness because of your 'experience' which sounds like it had more to do with your partner than the country. Most people on this forum live/holiday here by choice because they appreciate the beauty of the place, I wouldn't live anywhere else especially not France - it's overrun with ex-pat! :)
