Andiamo, I was thinking of buying the hotel / beach type for the same reasons as you, and the fact that they'd be more robust than the 'domestic' types. Can you tell me where I can find them please?
I'd also recommend Santa Margherita which is very close to Portofino. There is a large variety of hotels. I was recommended a small hotel called Jolanda. Rapallo is a few kms further along the coast but also very accessible by boat or bus and with a large selection of hotels.
The Avon 'Skin so soft' products are much more pleasant...I think they contain citronella oil, and they can be used as part of your daily routine. Apparently it's widely used on photographic modelling shoots. And no I don't have shares in Avon!! Citronella oil is widely available in the 'erborista' or farmacia in Italy. A little goes a long way
Thanks for your suggestions. I will try the rubber feet and the shelf and see if this helps. Does anyone know where I can buy the rubber feet? I can buy in UK or in Italy.
Has anyone any experience of using a prepaid Mastercard? I trawled through the various providers and got more confused the more I looked at. in the end I've applied for a 'FX' one recommended by one of the money-saving sites and the fee was waived if you applied through their link. Ther's no monthly fee just a 1.5% fee for purchases.I don't know if it's the best one but I figured paying 1.5% was still a lot cheaper than Ryanair's rip-off credit/debit card fees.
As a catholic I would say that the majority are every bit as shocked and saddened as anyone else by the disgraceful cases of abuse of children and young people at the hands of some members of the clergy and of the mishandling and cover-up by the church hierarchy. However I found the memo leaked by such a respected agency as the Foreign office about the Pope very distasteful. I wonder if similar treatment of a leader of another faith would be tolerated in the same way.
I hope so...booked for Genoa to Stansted Wednesday although at the moment this flight has been 'cancelled' but I'm not holding my breath. One thing this crisis has done is to focus one's mind on alternatives to air travel.
Hi there Obviously we haven't got our own car here. We looked into hiring from here to Calais and were told that to hire a car with Italian number plates and drive it to Calais it would cost around £1000! The trains are all booked, so are the few coaches. Went down to the station today to make more enquiries and their screens were frozen!
