Questions Asked

We have black spot algae appearing on the walls of our swimming pool. We understand that the best product to use is Lo Chlor black spot eradication but this doesn’t seem to be available in Italy. We are able to get it in the U.K.

The Covid vaccine certificates showing on the NHS App are now recognised by the Italian Green Pass scanning system. But make sure you show your second vaccine bar code as the first one creates a fail.

It is our first summer in our house nears Ferrara. Our property is adjacent to a canal so we have a lot of mosquitoes in the evening. Is anyone aware of an effective repellant that does not contain a signify amount of deet?

Just be sure look into buying a motorway vignette if you will be travelling on any stretch of motorway in Slovenia. We got caught out to the tune of about €200 Euro for driving a few kms. Signage is very non existent when travelling towards Italy.

I would recommend Ferrara region. The town itself is a mix of Renaissance and Medieval architecture and the Emilia Romagna cuisine is unbeatable. A short drive takes you to Comachio, known as mini Venice, Porto Garibaldi a working fishing port, with great fish restaurants and you also have the golden sands of extensive braces with some brilliant beach bars.

Ferrara isn’t too far away from you and is certainly worth visiting as is charming Comacchio (known as Little Venice).

Hi Morgan. There are currently no travel restrictions for those fully vaccinated. At the moment in Italy you are still required to show your Covid pass (NHS). So travel is now much easier.
As regards places to visit in Italy, so much choice! As we are based in northern Italy we have mainly explored the Italian Lakes, Verona, Prosecco, Bologna, Venice (all of which we’d recommend) but have also ventured down to Puglia (Matera is a must) and also the wine regions around Sienna. You really can’t go wrong! Have a great time.

Yes, that’s the position at the moment although I understand through the grape vine that this may change within the next few weeks. Holland and Germany would be the alternative route as I don’t think they currently impose transit restrictions. We’ve not tried that route.

That’s what I thought Alan so very annoying for any trying to reach their homes in Italy at the moment. We are planning to drive back to Italy in February so hopefully it’ll be ok by then.

The app reads the QR code on our U.K. Covid certificate- both the paper version and that on the NHS app. You can try downloading the Verifica app yourself and checking if it reads your QR code. Good luck!
