We have black spot algae appearing on the walls of our swimming pool. We understand that the best product to use is Lo Chlor black spot eradication but this doesn’t seem to be available in Italy. We are able to get it in the U.K.

Change to transit restrictions through France.
The Covid vaccine certificates showing on the NHS App are now recognised by the Italian Green Pass scanning system. But make sure you show your second vaccine bar code as the first one creates a fail.

We've are driving straight back from Italy to U.K. At the moment, stopping only at Aires in France for loo stops and paying at pump in service stations. So, as we are not having contact with people in France, under current government guidelines, we don't need to quarantine in U.K. upon return. We've done this a couple of times recently with no problems. We just make sure we complete the online government form before arriving at Calais.
Hi. We have been driving down to our house in Ferrara since early July when restrictions lifted. Not planning on flying for a while but feel quite safe here. Visiting the beaches, restaurants etc just avoiding huge crowds.
Intasure also gave us a quote which included earthquake cover. In fact they gave us two prices - one including earthquake cover and one without it. This was in September.
That’s interesting to hear as we only renewed in September. Doesn’t bode well for the future. I think there was another company who quoted but were more expensive. I’ll see if I can find the details.
We had the same problem and it was only by chance that I noticed that earthquake cover was no longer included in our schedule. It took a while to find a company who would provide this cover by eventually went with Schofields. Their price was very competitive. Their U.K. number is 01204 365080. Goid luck! Shelagh
Thanks Ronco. I’ve found an Irish pub which doesn’t usually open until 17.30. Will call them later.
Thanks Caroline. We do use bricoman too. Like Leroy as it gives me an excuse to go to IKEA!Btw have you been to the buskers festival in Ferrara? We are really enjoying it. Ends tomorrow Shelagh
Thanks. We are getting used to the habits of zanzare so know when to expect them. Also in process of putting up screens - kit bought from our favourite DIY store Leroy Merlin.
Ah that’s really interesting. I was with a friend on the beach last week and she was bitten badly on her legs. It must have been these little blighters. The bites didn’t seem to respond to Fenistil which is a remedy we buy from the pharmacy and find very effective for mosquito bites. Thanks for this info.
That’s v helpful. We are right next to a canal so no chance of avoiding them. Will try Autan. Can you send the treehugger link please. Cheers
