Hi, we are in mid Marche, Macerata being the closest large town.We are looking for modern furnishings (like Ikea but something Italian) - seen a lot of furniture and home interior stores as we drive around but would take an age to keep stopping.Ho
My Italian solicitor advises me that a valid contract may enable the geometra to prevent access to the property. However in my case the contract is not absolutely clear and his rights are therefore unclear. Apparently the geometra is entitled to the opportunity to correct the works but he has not chosen to do so in the past year. I have had a joint meeting with the solicitor and geometra present and made a "final offer" - the end result being that the geometra still seeks payment and has made no commitment to complete or correct the works. I have threatened to report the matter to the Carabinieri but wondered if any one had been in this position before and indeed whether the Carabinieri would act in such a matter.
Thank you both for the advice. Will probably try maggots and flies and see what works - collecting and using house flies would make fishing even more interesting for a 7 year old!
i've used Auto Europa from Ancona with no problems however the best prices I have found recently are via ryanair whose website relays you to hertz (at prices less than standard hertz)
In my case I employed a UK solicitor - apart from the standard searches (which it appears the estate agent could perform) I don't think I received much value. The advice was misleading (did not reflect local practice) and I had to push the process along. If I had to do it again I would instruct an Italian solicitor in the local commune for peace of mind.
We are thinking of visiting friends in Uza, South of France and then driving on to Marche in August. Michelin suggests 1600kms and 15 hours . Apart from "don't do it" does anyone have any experience or suggestions?
Charlotte if the UK will refers to "all my property worldwide", I am domiciled in the UK with "prima casa" status in Italy, does that mean that all inheritance tax will arise in the UK (and none in Italy)? Thanks for any advice.
thanks for the advicestill not sure what type of snake it was - the shed skin had no particular markings (silvery / fawn)i conclude all snakes to be avoided and seek medical help if bitten
