Just how much cheaper us the resident tarrif compared to non resident? I just divided my bill (over two months) by my usage, and arrived at just under 28 cents per kwh.How would that change if I became resident?

(Re Woodburners )Are CO detectors widely available and mandatory as in the UK? I reckon we all should have them. Not seen them locally.
I was just about to wire up my workshop to the ENEL box this morning and discovered that the LIVE (Brown) and the EARTH wires are connected together at the meter tails, I was expecting the NEUTRAL and the EARTH wires to be connected together, has

Thank's Badger, I was thinking of the pump input requirement. So if it was 4kw and running 8hours in 24 it would cost around E6.40 adding on circulation pumps etc the cost would be around E7.50 a day which works out at around E53 a week.Once you add in your normal electricity costs it sounds a bit too expensive for us. I'll sort out the damp proofing, draught exclusion and insulation first and see what money we have left. Could be we might be taking Edwina Curry's advice of wearing wooly hats ...... inside.
Roughly speaking, how much per kilowatt does it cost (averaged out to include standing charges) for a 9kw three phase supply from ENEL- thinking about feeding a heat pump, sounds expensive to me.
Yep-same thing happened to us,(twice ) often better for us to fly to Rome and drive down to Puglia.
Sorry to hear of your situation Tess- it could have happened to many of us, we too are planning to relocate and our house is barely habitable ... but there will be other English speakers in the area somewhere.I feel confident that things will improve as the spring weather comes in.In the meantime plan how you want the house and garden to look -keep your dream alive! ciao Billy&Martine (just off to catch our flight to Rome at 6am.)
Hi Tess sorry I called you Carole- doh!! Ciao and Aguri. Billy
Having emailed the chap at my banca he tells me the zerotondo is only for residents.....as expected. Hope they still offer it when we become residents!
I found Kevan's post very interesting, we have always had macs so there are a limited number of opportunities to watch UK TV .
Ciao, I have an account with Banca Intesa ( now part of Banca di Napoli). As a non-resident I pay around 200 Euros annually to service the account. It includes internet banking (to some extent anyway). Careful use of cash points and payment options could reduce this I expect. I will be looking to change to a lower cost account in future, as regards the Zerotondo I know nothing, but I bet non residents don't qualify! However, I'll enquire at the banca later on this month. Regarding bill payments from the UK you can do better, try TORFX . Ciao for now Billy
Keep your chin up mate!
