We have a vacant two car garage in a newly built building that is empty, it came with the property. Garage has keyed pull up door, with a key access electric door to access building.
we built a home in Termoli and told the builder the only thing we wanted to do was show up at settlement. We negotiated a price, signed the contract and literally showed up 2 years later. There are so many "what if" and "well this is how you do it this way" all the contractors know how to navigate the waters so my recommendation is make sure your contractor, architect is knowledgelbe in the ways of the comune and all should be OK
Being an American renting in Italy has been made easier with a website called Homelidays.com. It costs 229 euros per year but has proven to be well worth it. We have on average rented 4 to 5 weeks per summer which has helped with covering our expenses. The translate several languages to make it easier for renter/owners to communicate.
