Can anyone please enlighten me on the benefits or disadvantages of switching to LPG. Our development will shortly have the facility to offer this to the residents in place of bottled gas.

We have been using bottled gas for the past year but now have the opportunity of switching to natural gas. Has anyone else switched? If so are there any advantages / disadvantages ? Are costs higher or lower?All opinions welcome.

Thanks for your advice. Do you know whether the onus for obtaining the correct paperwork / compliance with the law lies with the buyer of the vehicle or the dealer who sells the vehicle. For instance, if the dealer has sight of the codice fiscale, passport, proof of address, and Italian bank account, is that sufficient to satisfy the authorities ?
Hopefully we will be completing in September. We have an Italian solicitor here in the UK who is dealing with our legal formalities. We were intending to give him POA to save on the costs of us having to travel and also the cost of an interpreter. Is this a sensible route? Your views would be welcome. Donna

Introduction: We have recently retired and intend to move to the Ionian coast of Calabria when we complete the purchase of our flat. As we intend to live there for at least 80% of the year we intend to apply for our residency, not least for the benefit of cheaper utilities. There numerous questions such as :- How do we apply for residency? Do we pay income tax on our pension which is already taxed in the UK? We intend to buy a LHD car in the UK with UK registered plates. Has anyone else been through this process before ? Has anyone successfully claimed back the tourist/higher rate of tax paid on their purchase? Can the accounts for the utilities be switched from tourist to residential easily? Or is there convoluted process involved. Would be grateful if anyone can point us in the right direction to get the information we need. Thanks Donna de Amusa
