One of our neighbors has asked us if he could buy one of our large false Acacia trees that we have on our land - since it makes very good fire wood. By us it is ok, but I do not know how much money we should ask for it.
Being new to the forum, I thought it was time to write my introduction. Me and my husband have just bought a house north of Lucca, to use as a holiday home - at least until we retire...
We bought our house this spring through Remax in Lucca with the help of their agent Paola Mondello. She is absolutely fantastic and was/is a fantastic help to us! She speaks english, absolutely loves her work and puts in all her energy to help you find the type of property you want. She also cooperates (which is very common here) with many of the other agents in the area, so you are not restriced to looking at the houses that are on the Remax home page.
As I am appalled by the charges at my bank Monte Pasci di Siena, I have asked some Italian friends who have recomended BNL's account named Revolution. I went to one of their branches in Lucca last week and after some investigation from their part they came to the conclusion that you have to be resident in Italy to be able to open one. Their best offer for us was an account which would cost €17 every 3 months, which is much better than MPS but in my opinion still way to much. On the other hand I have a friend who is not resident in Italy who were able to open this account at BNL in Follonica (Tuscany), so I think it is depends on if the clerk in the branch reads the small print or not...
Thank you for the welcoming words from you all, and the advice from Fabbriche. Saffie, please keep me informed about your progress with the pool! If we can afford it, we would like to have one built next year. This year we will do with an Intex "fouri terra" plastic one. Jan, I sent you private message, since I wonder if we might have something in common :-)
