i will be travelling to my place near menfi in sicily several times a year landing at trapani or palermo, depending on mr gadaffi...as it's very restrictive to buy a car in italy and i don't want to keep asking family to collect me each time, i ha

Hi, i'm not getting email notifications when someone replies to my posts or sends me a private message, people must think i'm rude when i don't reply to them in reasonable time.

thanks for the info, i'll take on board what what's been said. now i'm not as warm on taking a tv to italy from uk, i've seen some good deals on amazon.it but because i'm not certain about DTT in the area i'm going to visit some local stores when i'm over there next to research. Allan. maybe i should have titled this post DTT TV instead of freeview, which is what i'm really looking to get.

thanks for replies, i'm thinking about ordering the item in the link below from amazon, checking it's OK and then sending via courier. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digihome-LCD32913HD-32-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B005CO90NC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1348504387&sr=8-2 just wondered what you think of this and its suitability, it says that it has menu in 19 different languages. Allan, as long as i get some digital channels such as news etc. i'll be happy, my wife likes some of the game shows. I've got a feeling that the ariel would need upgrading, i'll have to check it out next time i go over there. if i have to pay for a licence, then i'll have to even though it will be reluctantly as i'll only be there for 8 weeks max per year.

Hi Gala, fillede clearly said that she was being blocked (maybe i'm misunderstanding it) but thanks for taking the time to reply and explain.

Hi Gala, is the same admin who drove off or blocked the person referred to in this post the same that drove off fillide? other members say in fillede's post that no admin exists or no moderation takes place on this forum - i'm confused. edit: sorry should have said community

all we need is for super Mario Balotelli to stick another couple away against spain and at the same time hope that Fernando keeps missing the target...  FORZA ITALIA = perfect.

fully agree with what La Dolcevita has recomended and what Esme has put into practice. I only speak for myself but find it interesting, what the actual translation is if not the posters own interpretation.

Not saying that they are all the same but speaking from experience, when i visit Italy i'm always cautious of sellers who don't have prices displayed, believing they decide what to charge individual people. If you're not established or known to them the price will probably be higher than a known local. a while back my cousin purchased some swordfish from a stall in the town i'm from and i happened to be at her house when she unwrapped it, i asked where she got it from and how much the cost was and immediately went to the stall. when i asked the cost as none was displayed, it was half more per kilo than i was told 10 mins earlier. having decided not to purchase it, i went back and told my cousin thinking she had got it wrong but she confirmed what she had said was right. I had to stop her going and confronting the stall owner to avoid embarrassment.

the last time but one i was in sicily my cousin came to pick me up from trapani. on the way back to menfi we were waiting at a junction in catelvetrano trying to turn left, after quite some time of wating (even i was getting impatient), my cousin turned round and said 'ora. facciamo come i palermitani' and he pulled out just like they do in london. i think this confirms that driving in sicily varies...
