I can't help wondering how on earth, in the event of a claim, the insurance company could hope to know how many of the last 28 days you had spent in the house?! Surely its sensible simply to have good locks, turn appliances off when you leave, have someone pop-in once a week and check for leaks etc. and leave it at that.

With hundreds of thousands of pounds at risk I certainly don't want to give any insurer the opportunity of not paying a claim, and it would be up to me to prove I was staying there as per conditions of policy, and lie I would not!!!
I don't know of anyone in particular but on 'Googling' "UK holiday home insurance" a long list of companies came up who specialise in insuring second homes in the UK. I can only suggest you start to plough your way through the list and see if something suitable comes up. Good luck!
