9955 solar cooling?

It seems to me that when the sun is shining then the only thing that needs heating is water.
With the weather we have been having in Italy recently I would love to have a cooler house is there such a thing as a solar cooling system. I am not keen to use mains elec conventional a/c systems as this seems to be a planet-unfriendly use of resources and noisy to boot.

If you Google *solar cooling*, you will find quite a lot of info on the subject. Quickly looked at it but could not see any details on costs for the equipment though.

If you live in a dry area you can use a swamp cooler, which is common in the southwest US. It's just a box with a fan that blows over a pad with water trickling over it. The evaporating water cools the air, which is vented into the interior of your house. Very cheap, simple and pretty effective.

I found this site which sells aircon kit powered by a photovoltaic panel with battery for store (overnight use). Look at the last item on this link..

I like the concept of solar-electric cooling, but I have my doubts about that product. The solar panel generates 85W. A small mains air conditioning unit needs 10 times that.

I think the claim "cooling effect 1050 watt" is dubious.
