Hi GracieJeff65, if it is a small job - OK. But if it is a bigger job (over €10,000) it is not advised to give it to the first english speaking builder that comes along as it will be too tempting, even for the most honest builder, to be uncompetitively expensive. Let us know how you are doing and what size of job.bye Ronco

Hi GracieJeff65,Hopefully you have had some interest/responses to your enquiry. If you are still looking for options please contact me. I am based in London but frequently travel to southern italy. In a few years, I will move permanently to Italy.I have a team of builders/craftsmen that I have used both in Italy and UK of various nationalities but mainly Italians.Basically I'm looking to improve my knowledge(each region/comune have their preferred methods) and provide alternate methods of/for the industry in Italy. Most of the Italian builders in the various regions have their methods 'set in stone'. I'm hoping to provide a flexible service either through project management or turnkey service.I'm not sure of what your experience or expectations are, but I have found Italian builders to be 'craftsmen' and take their work seriously and put in a hard days work. Contrary to most of the pen pushers I have encountered here. My opinion on these - I will keep to my myself as I do not want to be banned!Good Luck and if you require any help feel free to contact me.
There is a very good builder,

Hi all, I am looking for work in the construction industry, hopefully with an English speaking person / people, as my Italian is poor. I live in the centre of Rome but have brought my UK car, so can commute. Skills varied and many (Except the language :) )Do not mind starting here as a labourer Any links welcome.Regards, Greg

Greg a long shot posting on such an old thread.... Just a suggestion as there are probably people in Abruzzo that may have such work. Try looking on rightmove to get information on estate agents there or look them up on a search on-line. They have all the information on people buying who need building work done and even if they have their own, in my experience they are always looking for others... Good luck!
