2982 Mothers Day & Fathers Day

Just to say that tomorrow is Fathers Day here in Italy - but in the UK its not till June. And UK Mothers Day (for those of us who have English mums back in the UK) is the Sunday after - March 26th. I tend to forget and then my poor mum thinks I've forgotten her ! Mothers Day in Italy is either in May or June - not sure. I suppose the best thing is to have an Italian calendar and and English one to hand ? (I know its all just a commercial racket - but the kids like to make a card dont they ?)

The 8th March is what the italians call La Festa della Donna - its a kind of festa for all Women ( so you should've been celebrating too ;) ) They give mimosa in Piemonte too - I think other regions use different flowers. You're right about May for Mothers Day in Italy - its on the 12th May.

All a commercial racket these days in both Italy and UK.
Prefer to think of it as Mothering Sunday. Used to go to church as children and collect a little posy of flowers to take home for our Mums.
Be lovely if it was still like that.
