Would like to jump in at this point to defend Ronalds honour and reputation. I would ask politely that you leave this poor defenseless, weak and feeble creature alone, or meet me on the common for a duel at dawn!

Ronald, thank you for the links, and very interesting information.
I shall try the Red Wine and as everyone said here, not to get to drunk.Hahahahaha.as not to be able to run the Forum. Hehe!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone here heard of the Bocelli wine called Rosso Toscano,it was made in 1998 and it is not sold here in the usa yet? It's a Red wine.
That is absolutely right, about wine helping a person to fight the Flu and
one or two glasses a day is healthy for the blood stream too.
Thanks again Ron.
Friend,Claire.

Oh yes, warm red wine - especially mulled - is a terrific flu remedy. But I always thought it was because it helped you sleep and you sort of sweated the cold out during the night.
Ladies, I have girlfriend in her late 50s with exquisite skin despite 20 years of summer sunning in Italy. I know for a fact that she drinks half a bottle of red wine a night, has done for years so perhaps there is something in this "keeps you looking young" business.

Also read that the University of Bordeaux had done a research and that red wine gives you something like a 73% less chance of Alzeimhers........
Seriously though - having just survived a really cold and bitter winter in Piemonte - I didn't get even a cold - so maybe all those glasses of lovely red 'Raboso' really do have beneficial qualities after all ??? Think I'll have to do much more research into this subject :)

Theres the well known "gazelle theory" that alcohol kills off the weaker brain cells allowing the brighter, stronger cells to thrive and live.
Myself I believe in the "wine goggles" everyone is beautiful, especially me!!!

The Value of a Drink
"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink
I feel shame Then I look into the glass and think
about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes
and dreams . If I didn't drink this wine, they might be out
of work and their dreams would be shattered.
Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this wine and let their
dreams come true than be selfish."
~ Jack Handy

going to feel all day. "
~Frank Sinatra

Finally got round to trying Nero d'Avola from Sicily, very tasteful label too and very different than the Primativos. Bags of crushed berries, with a deep peppery aftertaste, but still quiet light, a delight...I did get hiccups though...
Well I guess if you are thoroughly pickled precious little will be able to take hold in your system...
