A pilot project on the use of biomass as an energy source was recently awarded the 'Sfide 2006' (challenge 2006) for their ''best practices and administration''.
The project was created by Professor Enrico Bonari at the Scuola Superiore di Sant'Anna's Land Lab, in collaboration with the Grosseto Chamber of Commerce at the Biomass Research Centre at the Univeristy of Perugia, and at the GEA and GEA COM in Grosseto.
The initiative was promoted by the Forum PA and the Dipartimento per lo Sviluppo delle Economie Territoriali della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri (DiSET) (who contributed scientific expertise), and the collaboration of prestigious partners, such as the Associazione Nazionale dei Direttori Generali degli Enti Locali, Censis, Confindustria, Bocconi and the Rete delle Citta' Strategiche.
