An Italian soccer court on Wednesday flung Serie A's bottom club Cagliari a lifeline by giving it back three points deducted for a financial irregularity.
The Sardinian club, which had 25 points, leapfrogged Empoli (26 points) and Reggina (27) to join Livorno in joint third-last place on 28 points with eight games to go.
Three clubs go down at the end of the season.
