The next time you arrive at an Italian museum or office and find them closing up ten minutes before they are supposed to, you can point to the opening times displayed on the door and say,
“Ma c’è scritto…” [literally “But it is written…”] - “But it says…”
We don’t think it will cause the manager to change his or her mind and stay open, but at least you’ll have protested in correct Italian!
