Despite a general slump in the automobile market in Italy, sales of commercial vehicles this month jumped 3.3 over the same month last year, sector sources said.
Meanwhile, Fiat saw its European market share climb to 11.4% in the first quarter of the year, from 10.7% for the same period in 2007.
In Italy, sales of domestic commercial vehicles rose 3% and accounted for 52.7% of the market.
