After modelling Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring / Summer 2010 Collection, singer, actress and alleged pasta-eater Madonna has now done a little designing of her own, having collaborated with D&G to create a line of sunglasses. This is the first line that D&G have co-designed.
The sunglasses will bear the MDG logo with the M filled with miniscule stars. According to “Women’s Wear Daily”, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana sent the star over fifty sketches for sunglasses. Madonna chose six designs and made her own alterations and suggestions. The design duo are pleased with the result and say,
“The oversized and wraparound designs are very sexy and very feminine, like our clothes.”
Steven Klein has again taken the stills for the advertising campaign and they will appear in May’s fashion magazines. The campaign features Madonna and the model Tyson Ballou. The first six designs for the line will be in Luxottica and Sunglass Hut stores from May and will cost from $248 - $289 [£162.15 - £189 or €181 – €211].
Will you be in the queue to buy a pair of MDG sunglasses?
