Sometimes English speakers become completely confused because word order in Italian is more flexible than in English.
In Italian it is possible to say both
Arriva Maria
and
Maria arriva
for “Maria is arriving”.
In fact, the first version would be preferred.
All you need to do is remember that the subject can be placed at the end of a sentence to work out some meanings!
