Who handled your claim?

Has anyone filed a claim for property or vehicle damage with their UK based insurance company? If so did they send anyone to inspect your property or vehicle with English language skills? I am curious as to how much benefit their is dealing with a UK based insurance company if you can't get someone to come and inspect the damage.
