Sorry - made a mistake submitting this twice...
I'm curious as to why I see large rocks placed on roofs - does anybody know why this is done. A few weeks ago my wife and I were driving to Gubbio and were amazed ath the number of roofs that had large rocks strategically placed on them.
Anyone know why this is done?

Hey,
For those staying in Rome there is "Friends in Rome" (www.friendsinrome.com).
Friends in Rome is a social network that organises all kinds of activities -wine tasting, language exchanges, excursions,...
It is a great way to meet new people.
The site also offers its members to share their Roman experiences. Give it a try!
Cheers,
Mike

Can someone help do you need a will in Italy to ensure that the children get an equal share in property and monies you have in italy or is it automatically shared. Would a hand written will do? Is there a law in Italy that deems all assets are shared with in surviving children?

Our engineerbhas asked if we would want anymore that 3 kilowatts, is this enough for an average house. The house has 4 bedrooms but also has a small apartment in the the basement which we hope to rent out....we want to make sure that there is enough supply ... Would be grateful for any help or advise! I've just finished this book written in 1966 by John Verney, who was a PoW in Sulmona and was looked after by local contadini after his escape. The Abruzzese amongst us will recognise many of the placenames, and it is written in an easy and unaffected style. Though Verney was officer-corps his writing is not typical of that genre. He was also the inventor of the Dodo-Pad, for those of us old enough to remember!
