Residence in Italy whilst still having house in UK

Submitted by rachel68 on

I am wondering if anyone can help with this property tax minefield! Last September my partner and I bought a casale in Lazio to renovate and which will be our main home in the years ahead. It is a long term home for us. We bought it in my name solely. I also have a house in London which has gone up in value substantially over the last eight years. We currently rent out this home in London and rent in Scotland as my partner's job involves frequent postings abroad. He will retire in approx 6 years and then the plan is that we will all live in Lazio.

Dropped my Kindle and it's dead

A terrible thing has happened. I dropped my Kindle down the stairs. It slipped out of its case and and slid to the bottom step and then somersaulted onto the floor where it landed with a crack. It switches on but then gives up and turns off. Catastrophy! It holds my library of over 200 books! Oh no, I really can't travel without it.

Letting property as holiday rental

Submitted by Fabbriche on

We are just about finished with our house and are looking to let it out for holidays. We know we will have to pay tax and intend to declare any income in u.k. We have heard that Italian authorities are looking into holiday rental web sites to pursue owners for tax payment. If we are paying in U>K> will that be sufficient. Or will we be guilty until proven innocent!

Any comments greatly appreciated.
