Hi allDoes anybody have experience of working at the British Institute in Rimini or know anything about it??I have been offered a teaching job there even though i dont yet have my TEFL certificate. But when i googled its name on the internet i saw a lot of people blacklisting it for TEFL jobs.I am planning on moving to Cattolica for a while because of health reasons and this offer seemed too good to be true.If anyone has any experience of working there or has any advice could you please let me know.thanksMaria

Sorry Maria, I do not have any experience. However, why just don't have a try. Don't believe what others say... you may experience it on your own. Nobody forces you to stay and work there if you don't like the job in the end...May be a good experience!Good luck and let us know what you decided eventually!Monica

Only thing we can say is that we've had a negative experience with them and have heard a lot of negative comments about them. Things however can change, make sure you have a solid, clear contract and try to clarify as many things as possible up front.

Hi Maria, I have only just saw this post and I hope it isn't too late. Do NOT work for the British Institute in Rimini or anything else Valentina Douglas runs. I am still owed 500Euros from 2007 and I have many friends that are owed a lot more than this. I worked there for 5months and each month had to fight to get my wage saying I wouldn't do anymore hours teaching until I got paid. Once I handed my notice in (to move back to the UK) she never paid me again thus still owing me money. I was also the only one in that school who was qualified to teach, I don't think she really cares because she knows she won't be paying you. There are plenty of good schools out in the Rimini but please stay away from anything Valentina runs for your own sake. Good Luck

It looks you got a lot of warnings, enough to make you change your mind about the possibility of a relocation in Italy. That would explain why they didn't ask you about the TEFL certificate. If you're eager for some adventure I'd advise you to move to Italy, if you're not then it's better to search for better job offers. Good luck on whatever you decide!
