Can an Italian man apply for an italian passport, without registering his British born children in Italy?

I would have thought so. But as to why he would want to is a more interesting question!

Cost I'm afraid. The consolate here told us that in order to apply for a passport my husband needed to register both our marriage and 3 children in Italy, at a total cost of £450. Our children have british passports so this just seemed more than a tad unfair!
